Mark Priest injured his neck in a fall last week, but Local 6's Jessica D'Onofrio learned that he was expected to recover. Officials confirmed that Priest died Monday at a hospital, surrounded by fellow cast members. Disney released the following statement regarding Priest's death: Today we are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our fellow cast member. Our hearts go out to his family and fellow cast members and we are offering our support to them during this difficult time. A home video of a pirate tutorial near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney World captured a show similar to the one in which Priest was injured. During the performance, two characters interact with park guests to test their pirate skills. Priest fell during one such performance on Thursday. According to Disney, Priest fell forward after a choreographed stumble in the routine. Disney said paramedics took Priest to the hospital immediately after the fall, and said it was their understanding that Priest was recovering. Disney officials said there was no indication his injuries were life-threatening. According to investigators, Priest's exact cause of death is currently unknown.
